No chip found? We can microchip on the spot
By law, all dogs in the UK must be microchipped by 8 weeks old and before going to their new homes — and cat microchipping is compulsory in England and strongly recommended in Wales. If a scan shows no chip, we offer quick, DEFRA-compliant home microchipping, registered to a DEFRA-approved database with the paperwork handled the same day. Puppies and kittens can be chipped from 6 weeks old.

Why should I check my pet's microchip if it was working before?
Chips rarely fail, but the details registered against them go out of date all the time — people move house, change phone numbers and forget to update the database. A quick scan confirms the chip is working and reminds you exactly what it's registered to, so a lost pet can actually make it home.
What if the chip has old or incorrect details on it?
We'll read the chip number and help you work out which database it's registered with, then point you to the right place to get the details updated — so your pet is registered to you, at your current address.
I've found a stray — what should I do?
If you've found a stray or taken in a new-to-you pet, we can come to you and scan for a microchip. If there's a chip, its number is the key to tracing the registered keeper through the database and getting them home safely.
How quick is a microchip scan?
Very quick — the scanner simply passes over your pet's coat, so most scans take just a few minutes from start to finish. It's completely non-invasive and we always go gently, at your pet's pace.
Do you scan cats and small animals as well as dogs?
